Retrospective chart reviews were performed in ten children with neuromuscular disorders, Analysis of the data for patients with at least 6 months of device use showed significantly fewer hospital days. Parents reported that MI-E had prevented several hospitalisations either by facilitating management of acute plugging or choking episodes or by preventing illnesses with regular daily secretion clearance.
