VOALTE Licensed Application

Privacy Statement

This privacy statement is issued on behalf of VOALTE, Inc., a subsidiary of Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc., and their affiliates (hereinafter, collectively: "VOALTE", "we", "us") to tell you, as the end user ("you"), about how we use your personal data when you use the software application and associated media and electronic documentation and other materials that accompany this privacy statement (collectively, the “Licensed Application"). BY INSTALLING OR OTHERWISE USING THE LICENSED APPLICATION, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNTERSTOOD THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT.

The Licensed Application connects to an instance of VOALTE server application which VOALTE licenses under a separate master terms and conditions agreement to health care providers, including the hospital, clinic or other similar facility at which you work (hereinafter, collectively: "Hospital") and enables health care professionals to connect with other members of their care teams, improve care coordination, keep caregivers informed and accelerate treatment to speed patient recovery. We refer to the instance of VOALTE server application that VOALTE has licensed to your Hospital and related services, including the Licensed Application, collectively as "VOALTE Mobile".

VOALTE acts as a "processor" of your personal data for the purposes of providing VOALTE Mobile to your Hospital. This means that we will only use your personal data to provide VOALTE Mobile in accordance with the instructions of your Hospital. Your Hospital remains the ultimate “controller” of your personal data and it is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with the data protection laws applicable in the country where you are located.

VOALTE respects your right to privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. We will always process your personal data in accordance with data protection laws and any other applicable laws relating to or impacting on the processing of your personal data.

1. What personal data do we collect?

We collect and use the following personal about you: your full name, username for logging into Hospital systems, telephone number, email address, audit log data, and device information (device vendor, device model, and device identifier). We collect your personal data directly from you when you give it to us (e.g. you create or activate your user account on the Licensed Application). We collect personal data about your device automatically when you use the Licensed Application. We may also receive personal data from your Hospital.

2. How do we use your personal data?

VOALTE collects and processes your personal data for the following purposes:

   A) As needed to administer and provide VOALTE Mobile to the Hospital, including without limitation for the purposes of:

    a. general administration, processing, provision of support and addressing any complaints or concerns, and related purposes; and

    b. making the full suite of enabled functionality of VOALTE Mobile available, such as:

              i.     displaying basic demographic information about patients to authorized users through the VOALTE Mobile directory;

              ii.     enabling you to use the Licensed Application to communicate with your colleagues about patients through secure messages;

              iii.     facilitating efficient communications between users by making users’ contact details available to other authorized users’ through the VOALTE Mobile directory;

              iv.     integrating VOALTE Mobile with the Hospital's existing systems; and

              v.     integrating VOALTE Mobile with third party applications that offer enhanced features to enable more flexible, efficient and advanced management of patient care;

   B) Technical support, including but not limited to the set-up and the maintenance of VOALTE Mobile, for troubleshooting purposes and for escalating technical issues through VOALTE support network; and

   C) Carrying out upgrades and improvements to any part of VOALTE Mobile, including communicating with you as well as arranging training and follow ups as appropriate.

3. Data sharing

For ensuring the proper operation of VOALTE Mobile, we will make available your personal data to our affiliates and subcontractors that provide technical support services. All VOALTE affiliates and subcontractors involved with the processing of your personal data are contractually bound by strict obligations on data privacy and data security. Given that some of these entities are located outside of your country of residence, we have taken measures to ensure that they provide an adequate level of data protection and that appropriate legal transfer mechanisms are used, as required by the applicable data protection laws.

4. Data security

We take the security of your personal data very seriously. We have put in place appropriate technical and organisational security measures to try to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. Access to your personal data is granted on a strictly need to know basis.

5. Your rights

In certain circumstances, local privacy laws may give you rights with respect to your personal data. If you wish to exercise your rights, please do so by contacting the Hospital who is the controller of your personal data.

6. Changes to this privacy statement

We may amend this privacy statement from time to time. We will note the date on which the last revisions were made at the bottom of this privacy statement.
